Who is the 18-year-old gifted with hypnotising trickery and scooping MVP Awards for fun in the Division One League? — Ghana Sports Online

Fans who know him call him Kwadaso Diego many others have likened his style to ex-Hearts of Oak assassin Charles Taylor for his hypnotising trickery, extraordinary physique, and visible clutch gene.

Emmanuel Amoah, 18, has become the target for most defences in Zone III of the Division One League however, the 1.74 m tall offensive midfielder keeps evolving his vibes in midfield to outwit opposition players and draw the admiration of fans.

It is difficult to watch Amoah in action and not to get impassioned by his sheer grace and finesse on the ball. In 14 games for Akyem Old Tafo-based Susubiribi Sporting Club, the teenager has scooped 6 MVP Awards.

Amoah, affectionately called Fiazo by his teammates, arrived in the Division One League two seasons ago from Kwadaso Sampdoria and has meteorically risen into prominence in the 2022/23 season. He started the campaign with a point to prove and since winning the MVP Award against Gold Kicks on Matchday 2, he hasn’t looked back.

He has invented a cut-throat edge to his game by destroying defenders and opposition players with his mazy runs and mesmerising dribbling. The harbour city of Tema remains one of Ghana’s biggest football hubs. This season, in a matchday 12 clash involving Susubirbi Sporting and Na God FC, Amoah wowed the away fans with his exceptional talent and qualities on the field. Despite Susubirbi’s slim loss, he was voted the MVP of the game.

Emmanuel Amoah, no.9, has won 6 MVP Awards this season

Amoah is able to drive inside with ruthless incision, he is capable of dropping his shoulders in spins, he possesses fire in his legs to unleash powerful drives, and he gave fans a testament in the 1-0 home win over Tudu Mighty Jets when he drove a 30 yarder which tested the strength of the goalpost.

The good news is that Amoah is still developing his game in the Ghanaian second-tier league but it is refreshing to note that his qualities, exceptional skill set, durability, and precocity would propel him to flourish in any European side with a developmental mindset.

But, most importantly, he is the solution to the obvious shortage of high-quality multi-skilled midfielders with brimming energy to relentless press on the top-flight league. He could be the right cast to excel at giants Asante Kotoko or Hearts of Oak.

He won the MVP Award against the below teams in the Division One League – Zone III.

  • Golden Kicks
  • Uncle T United
  • Tudu Mighty Jets
  • Na God FC
  • Koforidua Semper Fi (MTN FA Cup)
  • Krystal Palace
